My Story - Making a Wish

When I signed the contract to rent my first antique mall space, I never would have dreamed that it would turn into twelve booths and my primary source of income! I was just browsing through a local antique mall one day, when I said to my friend, “Wouldn’t it be fun to be an antiques dealer?” Simply hearing myself speak those words sparked an idea in my mind to actually learn more about becoming a dealer and what that entailed.

At the time, I already had a great career. I was working for a Fortune 500 company, doing retail leadership training and development. For almost two decades, I taught classes about customer service, brand differentiation, merchandising, sales and profit, marketing and advertising, and other business principles.

I loved what I was doing, but I had a dream to build a business of my own. Be my own boss. Use my own creativity. Find a work-life balance that allowed me to travel, continue learning, and make a difference in the lives of those around me. The more I learned about the antique booth business, the more I realized that I could see my dream become a reality. I realized, this was just basic retail. I have taught basic retail for twenty years. I was made for this.
